DESCRIPTION

Roots of life:

  • This artwork portrays the depth and meaning of life. The title has the word root in it, but the artwork has branches connected to it too. The branches and the hand represented the many ways lives can lead you. It is a message that contains to never give up on life since there are numerous ways and paths life can lead you to success. However, in order for a life to gain have many branches, it needs a strong body to withstand all the weight of the branches, and in order to sustain a strong body, a tree must have a sturdy root. Like the name ‘Roots of life’, in order to have many paths available in life, you need to have a strong foundation of who you are and make good connections with good people. The root represents the person’s mind. The stronger the mind is, the stronger the person will be.

The Sunset:

  • In the Sunset, I tried to give a dreamy feeling to the artwork. Using acrylic colors, I represented the sunset as beautiful as possible. The car driving through the highway and the Hollywood sign are my fantasies about me driving a car and actually being able to see the Hollywood.

Seasons of Fall:

  • Seasons of Fall represent our lives in a modern way. The painting itself is a tree cut in half between the top and bottom. When a tree is cut, rings appear in wood. The more rings it has, the more the tree has lived and has a long lifespan. The one in the middle is the tree cut in half, there are three rings inside, inside each space of the rings there are columns in color. The columns have many different colors. It represents the many events that the tree has gone through within its lifespan. The rest of the painting is considered a forest with many other trees in it. The rings and the columns are considered how we have lived throughout our lifetime, it represents the good and bad times that every person has gone through. This painting symbolizes that like the rings of the tree, we will be able to prevail the hard times and cherish our memories throughout our lifetime because in the end the only thing that will remain within us are memories and experience.

The Trip:

  • "The Trip" was created to reflect the joy and happiness shared between an adult and a child during their journey. Designed for Homer's Odyssey Magazine, the artwork captures the essence of connection and the uplifting emotions that come with exploring and experiencing life together.

Left Behind:

  • This piece of art is in contrast with concept of ‘The Trip’. Whereas 'The Trip' has a happy theme typical of joy and love, this one is rather sad and has the feeling of defeat after a war. It reflects a man filled with desperation and with nothing around him indicating on the destructiveness and the harsh realities of war.
